truck has never had a safety neutral switch on it. I think for everyone's safety I need to put one on.Need some ideas on where you guys have put yours and what style of switch. First it has an ididit column with shift and a FMX transmission. I would imagine that I would wire it through the starter button on the dash.
I just checked Google and the link Im posting shows that a FMX trans has a neutral safety switch at the shifter, like a C4. How to Troubleshoot Neutral Safety Switches - Mustang Monthly Magazine I hope this helps . Also you might check to see if the colum shifter you bought has a switch built into it, I have a B&M shifter which did, its worth checking anyway. Best of luck.
My NSS is on the Lokar shifter. two terminals. One wire goes to the start circuit on the ignition key and the other wire goes to the start terminal on the fender mounted starter relay. Not the big terminal for battery cable or the cable to the starter. Not the wire to the solenoid on the starter, but the smaller start terminal on the relay.

The only Ford truck with an FMX: 1973/77 F350 with 300 I-6. The NSS was mounted on the steering column.
FMX introduced in 1968 and with this one exception, was only installed in cars.
I fabricated a bracket and mounted it so that the brake pedal actuates it as you push it down. Sorry I don't have a picture. After you have the switch you will see how it needs to be mounted to work.
