E Brake line bracket

E Brake line bracket

After installing blocks in the rear I noticed the e brake cable on the drivers side is hanging down. It's still attached at both ends but there's a wire bracket that should be bolted to something to hold it up that is hanging loose on the cable. Where is this supposed to attach to? If you follow the cable from the axle, it would be the first bracket you come to.

Those wire brackets typically attach to the driver's side frame rail, outboard, on the vertical web of the frame, in between spring hangars, forward of the axle, visible within the arch of the driver's rear wheel well. Depending on year, wheel base, and caliper orientation, they sometimes get removed or repositioned when aftermarket retractable gooseneck hitches are installed, such as the popular B&W hitch, as an example. The designs and original locations of the wire brackets have also changed over the years, but here is an example of a 2012 model year F-250 posted by rklavoon on thedieselstop to give you a rough idea of the general area where E brake wire bracket retainers mount:
