ill be quick and to the point here.. iv got a 2006 f250 wiht the 6.0 my vac pump does kick on and off but i havent taken it off to see if its really working, my fan speed works fine high thru low and so does my vent selector but i cant change the temp its max heat or max ac no matter where i put the temp dial at if i want heat its max heat if i want ac its max ac....maybe i have a bad temp switch?? just wanted a better opinion before i go buying stuff that i dont need and also on a side note even though i said that i can hear the vac pump kick in and out my 4x4 does not work the lights come on on the dash for the esof and it feels like it trys to kick in but then just gives up even if i put the hubs over on manual lock in the 4x4 still doesnt work so im thinking that iv got a transfer case prob or bad hub maybe?
how many lines does it have i havent really tore into it much and looked yet i traced the 1 that goes down to lock in my hubs and it looked alright but thats the only 1 i have looked at so far and that was just by eye sight guess i should break the spray bottle and soap out and do a double check
I think you have 2 separate issues. Like Watson said, look into the blend door. They're known to have issues.
The transfer case not engaging is a separate electrical or mechanical issue. The hubs are the only thing the vacuum operates, not the t-case. Did you try it rolling at least 5 mph?
checking vacuum with soapy water won't work. You need a vacuum pump... hook it to the line that feeds the hub, right at the wheel well. Lift the tire, spin it by hand while vacuum is applied. If it's good, you'll hear it lock in and the wheel will suddenly stop spinning.
Transfer case is electrical, you can hear it operate the motor with the truck off, turn the key to on, flip the switch after the fuel pump shuts off so you can hear it and feel it move.... unless you have the lever, but I'm pretty sure ESOF doesn't use the lever.
Turn the A/C on, if it switches from vent to defrost, that confirms a vacuum leak for sure.
Looking OK is not working OK... you need a test to be sure.
Well my vac pump and lines are all ok I had to replace the 1 going to the hubs it was cracked... when I checked the hubs themselves the right 1 is fine but the left 1 when I spin the tire to see if it locks it catches pops and then keeps spinning so I figure iv got a bad lockout I don't like the auto lockers anyway bad luck with them I'm just gona order some manuals from warn and be done with that.....so I guess I have it narrowed down to the blend door gona look into that today some time
Yea I know they have the manual lock already on the stock hub but since the 1 is already junk figured I'd just go buy the 1s I really want their not much more than the stock hubs anyway just have to get out to lock them in but that don't bother me none that's what iv always done
Great. But the ones probably not junk just needs a little love. And a new o-ring around the the hub or bearing could be the axle seal though, $69 and may need it anyway to keep the water out.
