dana 44 compatibility

I was looking at diff guards for my front dana 44hd ttb. Problem is that they are all for dana 44 jeeps. Does the bolt patterns of the diff bolts on my ford dana 44 match a jeep dana 44?

I don't believe so. I went to the local parts store for a gasket for my D44 TTB that they looked up and said that it would fit. NO. So I got on the phone with JBG and got the correct Spicer gasket. Comparing the two gaskets shows how different they are from each other.

I'm really not sure how necessary a diff guard is on a TTB, unless you just want one for style?

Most of the time you get a diff guard because the factory diff covers are paper thin stampings that will tear if you look at them wrong. You have the whole huge, thick, TTB arm as a diff cover.
