I ordered a new specter 22.5 gallon gas tank side tank. On my 73 scs. I looked inside the tank after I installed the sending unit and found the pickup tube was three inches from the bottom of the tank. As far as I know it is the stock unit. I cut a piece of tube to lengthen the pickup down to the bottom of the tank.is there different lengths of sending units? I have looked around and can't even find a direct replacement . I can only find sending units for behind the axle tanks. Thanks

Measure the depth of both tanks... whaddya get?
What is the PN of that Spectra tank? TNKF25A?
I'd contact Spectra to see what sender they spec for that tank.
Thanks hio silver for the response. I measured the tanks both the same. Yes my replacement tank is the f25a. I talked to my dad about the sending unit being short. He has in the year's past run into the same thing on untouched trucks (dent Side). That his customers were running out of gas with a 1/4 tank on the gas gauge. And upon removal of gas tank and finding 2_3 inches if gas and the fuel pickup is out of the gas. He did the same remedy I did . With problem solved
