88 F250 question
hey i got an 88 f250, just bought it not too long ago. The steering seems a little loose and has some play in it. It isn't bad enough to make it unsafe, but does make it a little tough to drive. Do I just need a new tie rod or what?

It could be any number of things or a combination. Your best bet is while haveng someone wiggle the steering look under the front for slop. start at the flex joint in the column, then the steering box and work your way to the ball joints. You then have all the rubber bushings too.

My truck feels the same way. I replaced all 4 ball joints the other night, I need a new intermediate shaft for my steering column as the joints are sloppy, I need radius arm bushings and then an alignment. That should fix it, the 4 new ball joints already took a lot of the slop out.
