88 clip to 84 ?

Hi All,

I have an '84 F250 diesel, with rusty front fenders. I have a chance to pick up an '88 parts truck. Will the whole sheetmetal clip from the 88 bolt up to the 84 cab?

'just an idea !

Thanks

Yes, but aren't the frame horns and bumper mounts different?

I just discovered, the parts truck is a 1990 (don't know if really any different than an '88 - looks the same)

Thanks

You're still going to have problems bolting the bumper up. Someone correct me if I'm wrong........

You dont really have to change over the bumper unless you want to.

Yeah, but that's not going to look right. An 80-86 bumper on a 87-90 clip?

I wouldn't do it.

Minor hole drilling I believe will fix the bumper problem. I also seem to remember a small mod to the lower rear fender mounting on each side is required, but I believe it's just a minor homemade bracket.

Good stuff guys, the '90 bumper has a bit of a bend in it on the passenger side. I'll have to look at how different the old and new bumpers are.

I wouldn't say that the members who have done it. Their trucks look sharp.

The front and rear wheel openings will have a different line if you do not switch beds. (or swap panels). No biggy.
DO IT!

I most likely do it myself since my bed is in bad shape. And I like the look of the early 90's truck.

The square front was from 87-91 correct. Wait the same front end is on the 09 F150 now!!

Reb, I like the 80-86, 87-91, 92-96 myself too. I like my 02 "Catfish" F150, but the older trucks are nice, I hope to get an F250/350 4x with the 87-91 body.
