I was replacing headlight socket, and curious what this is... i thought fuel filter, it has fuel hose attached to it,,, but i don't think so. didn't spend much time researching either
No, NOT Champion off of Ebay 3 for $23.00. Get the Motorcraft FA1632 Air Filter like Ford uses for the few bucks more!!! Some things it's alright to go cheap on, like Q-tips or travel shampoo but when harley suggest going half on a lap dance that's a bit cheap, just walk away!!! Do I go to Ford when I need a new key for my truck, no they want a bajillion dollars and eBay has them for a nickle. But saving a few bucks to go with an filter with less pleats, less quality control, and not nearly a tenth the name recognition as Motorcraft you're just being a tightwad. Getting air into the engine is one of the 3 things that makes a truck run, the rest is just filler. Don't go cheap on the one thing standing in the way of getting the air clean on the way to those hungry cylinders.

Seriously Champion?!?
Our trucks require 3 things to run, fuel, spark, and oxygen. Motorcraft filter, motorcraft plugs/COP/boots, and good quality fuel. Not one person on this forum should disagree with me.

That's $6.25 each. Changed when needed. My X seems to be breathing JUST FINE
Jon: Did you mean to type FILTERS as to add oil in your proclamation ?? The Motorcraft 801 has been proven (to me at least) to be a totally sub-par filter HOWEVER most on the board think it's the BEST FILTER EVER. I use Mobil-1 filters SO I put my money where it REALLY matters. IMO
You know what jrock? That intake using the OEM filter housing but replacing the intake pipe is kinda neat. I might look into that! Any more pics of it?

I wonder if Snowseeker would fab up 3-4 of those for us 6.8 members on here... seems simple enough Thanks for the pic man! I really like the set-up!!!
If you have the extra cash and want to spruce up the engine bay a bit here is an EXTREMELY simple part to swap out that takes about 5 minutes and makes the engine compartment look 10X newer (Or as much as it can). It's well worth the money even though it seems like a frivolous purchase. It's one of the better things I have bought and I would buy it 100X over.
I do need a new coolant reservoir, mines brittle and flaking...
