'84 302 EFI Computer Setup
I have an 84 Cougar & my 5.0L 302 EFI is in rough shape. Does anyone know how to read the computer without Ford's help? The book doesn't discuss the computer codes at all.
I understand that the timing is critical. I am trying to fine tune it to extend the end of it's life (240,000kms).
Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

'84 302 EFI Computer Setup
Your 84 has throttle body injection, which was only used for a year or two. Ford found that it was just a glorified carburator so they ditched it. Info is going to be hard to find on your rig. I would change the O2 sensor, PCV valve, cap and rotor, wires and plugs. I am unsure what the version of computer is in there ECC III or ECC IV, it should be listed under the hood by the emissions sticker and go from there.
