carb trouble

i have a 1972 f100 completely original. drove it home fine but was running very rich. now it wont start. new battery in and not too sure on how the pedal assembly should look but the trans kick back isnt up to the throttle like i see pics of? any ideas?

I would take all that screwed up linkage and brackets off of there and start over. Judging by the pictures, it reverses direction twice. no wonder it doesn't work.

No wonder it's running rich, the choke is fully closed.
