i have power wire wheeled my floor of my 68 f100 ranger, good and solid but pitted, couple of pin holes in passenger side floor, will fill in welding, i have treated the wired wheeled floors with ospho, they are very pitted, how would you all treat this floor? there will be heat and sound deaden'er layed over the floors, would you use filler to smooth floor or just treat with primer rust inhibitor and lay down the heat and sound deaden'er? looking for opinions, thanks dave
Are you guys using the POR15 on the inside of the cab over the floor or from under?
Use it anywhere, everywhere you don't want rust to re-appear.
I used mine inside the cab of an E-Series both front under the seats and the entire rear cargo area. It was 9 years old when new-to-me but if buying a brand new van I'd treat the most likely areas rust would begin with POR-15 along with 3M's Paint Protective film applied to those areas most likely to have rock/pebble impacts. The thicker stuff, formed in place with the help of a gentle heat gun.

I will be using it on a 78 rebuild. I plan on getting a full paint job and taking the cab off. While I have the cab off would you recommend doing a layer underneath the floor and a layer on the inside on the cab over the floor?

Yes! I'd use two coats, applied strictly as the instructions suggest.
