so I am thinking of removing my rear gas tank on my 92 f150 because i heard there is an issues where the gas will flow between them and stall the truck out. I don't use it nor do i plan on it but is it worth the work or should i just not worry about it/ 2n question shocks are they easy to replace on this truck never done it befor i bought this thing to learn how to do auto repair.
If it's ain't broke don't "fix" it. The fuel transfer problems can make your fuel consumption look bad and can waste gas if you don't realize it's happening and let the tank overflow, but it won't causing stalling. It's easy enough to determine if your truck has the transfer problem, if it doesn't then don't worry about but if it does then it's easy enough to work around, just drop the tank and plug both lines.
I've been living with cross flow for 10 years now. I never put more than 10 gallons in the front tank & drive off the full back tank first. Haven't lost any gas since the first week ownership.

why dont you just buy new pumps in ? there cheap on ebay.thats what i did
'Cause the Ford pumps are working just fine and replacements are not near the quality. So why go through a whole lot of work & cost for a few gallons of range I'm not dying for & parts of questionable reliability?
