I'm An Idiot.....

Welcome to the club. Even the most experienced stereo installer out there has done this one once or twice. Not so lucky for me, my first one was a $300 Dynaudio woofer.

Most wont take them back anyway because it was your fault. I have learned the hard way also to mark where the holes are going to go then drill with no speaker there. Also when putting the screws in I keep one hand covering the speaker so if I did slip I would catch it and not hit the speaker. what also helps is a screw driver with a fat handle. If you use electrical tape do not stretch it and bite it to tear a peice off. Use a razor blade or something to cut it. It will stick better that way and dont use alot of epoxy. I would mount the speaker with the repaired section to the left or right. Might not matter but I feel the weight of the cone would now be uneven and if mounted with repaired section to the side, the surround would help keep it even. Just one of my crazy way of doing things I guess...

Use something Strong, thin, and very light, and try to do the repair on the back side of the cone.

it sucks to booger up a new driver...but the elect. tape is holding fine on my perfect surrounding and i replace it every 3 months (constant heat or cold sometimes makes it come loose) but it still pounds (BTW i boogered mine up same day i got it...OUCH!)

I'm An Idiot.....

if that does not work try several layers of toilet paper and adheared with clear fingetnail polish, this only works with small holes no bigger than maybe a pencil size. its not flexable enough to use on a hole any larger
