All the 4x4 trucks were rear sump, and have the dipstick going into the pan to make it a bit easier. You will need the dipstick, tube, oil pickup, and one of the main bearing bolts to secure the pickup.
all the auto parts stores websites show the same front sump oil pan for the 2wdr and also the 4wdr.I cant find one that list a rear sump pan even by trying different years.I'll keep looking. Thanks
Here's what the rear sump oil pan looks like. The dip stick seems to get in the way of headers for the upper tube stick supporting bracket tab that mounts to an exh. bolt normally.
Some guys leave the stick tube unsupported which causes the dip stick tube to vibrate loose that makes it leak at the pan an egg holes the tube adaptor that is riveted into the side of the pans side. If you see a 4wd truck with one of these pans on it you will see a big gob of RTV all around the area where the tube goes into the pan most of the time with headers.
Dose anyone on here have one of these rear sump pans and pickup tube they want to sale or know of were i can find one to buy ? The only after market ones i can find are the race versions, that are priced a little high. Thanks
I've got a chance at a real good deal on a mustang II front suspinsion for my 67 and you have to run a pan with the rear sump to clear the crossmember.
