Post #1 says it's the steering box.
Posts #10 &12 say it's the low pressure side.
Post #13 says you installed a flared tube in the pump, as does post #15.

The pump does not take a flare.
It's a swivel seal. (I have side by side pics of the lines in my Saginaw swap post)

I'm sorry if I have confused people. I'll try to clear it up. The leak is in the flared fitting in the steering box. It is the High Pressure Line. I have tried twice to insert a flared fitting into the steering box. The flare doesn't seat.

The hose has an 5/16 Inverted Flare that goes to the Steering Box. Fluid leaks between the tube & nut. The flare doesn't seal.

I think that there should be an 'O' ring or something inside the female fitting in the steering box. There is something missing.

To the best of my knowledge it is just a 5/16 male inverted flare.
There is no O-ring on the steering box end.

I wonder what could cause fluid to erupt between the nut and the hose?
That flare should be hard against the seat in the steering box.

There appears to be a tube or ferrule in the female fitting in the steering box. I'll take a photo and post it.

Also take a picture of the hose end too.

I inserted a 1/4" drill bit into the short piece if inverted flare tubing that I have. Using a 1/2" deep socket I installed & tightened that fitting into the steering box.

I removed that & tried to put the same 1/4" bit into the inverted flare end of the PS hose. I couldn't get that bit or a 15/64" bit into the PS hose.

I thing that I need to drill out a short section of the inverted flare on the PS hose.

Just to close this thread, I have finally fixed the PS leak. I used my flaring tool, and re-flared the end of the PS hose. It seems that the flare on the replacement hose was not properly made to allow the flare to seat. I also used sealant on the threads for extra measure.
