When I met John last year, I thought I remember him saying he was buying a specific brand of torque converter (which I cannot remember). I suspect he would provide advice if he knew of a local shop that rebuilds them. The trouble I experienced was getting a call back. It seems that he was more than willing to help but he gets such a high volume of calls that he seemingly can't return all the calls. I visit that area once every 3 months and would be happy to take yours to him (or pick it up) if he does rebuilds in his shop.
94 is scheduled to start its trek along Los Angeles and Inglewood city streets May 21. The 16.5-mile trek at about 5 mph is expected to take 16 to 18 hours, according to the Science Center.
The tank is less than half the weight of Endeavour, but it is longer. ET-94 is 154 feet long; Endeavour is 122 feet. Without wings, its svelte shape will be easier to maneuver on the roads. And officials said no trees will have to be uprooted for the move, as they did for the shuttle’s route.
Emmert, whose company orchestrated the delivery of the 340-ton boulder “Levitated Mass” to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 2012, said he will be getting updates twice daily, about wave conditions, wind speeds, pitch and roll on the barge.
My Mom will be 80yo in a bit over a week. We've got a party planned, of course.
Yesterday I get a text that she had fallen and broken her knee cap/Patela. First thing I thought is, oh-oh, she might have fainted or lost her balance somehow.
Nope. Turns out she was playing hide and seek with a bunch of great-nieces and nephews. Didn't see a step and fell.
May need surgery, screws I'm guessing. But I hope I still feel like playing kids games at that age.
With that spirit, Bill, she'll be up and around in no time.
When my mom was about 90, she fell in a bathroom at LAX as she was waiting to get on a plane to Minnesota. Broke her femur. Though she didn't make that trip again until the following summer, she has made it back there again every year since, and she's now a hundred.
Sorry about your mother's fall and injury Bill. If she's able to still play kid games she's young enough to recover with minor difficulties!
I am new to the forum and thought I would say hello to some of you in CA. I am originally from MI, but have been in southern CA since 2012. Would be great to meet anyone that enjoys trails, mountains, mud and dunes. Sorry to say that I have not met more than 5 nice people since I have been here. Hoping maybe a forum might be a better place to start than out my front door.
