ABS, is it possible and worth it?
If it's "worth it" may be a biased question towards my particular project but here it goes:
I'm prepping my engine bay for paint now that the powerstroke going in is ready to drop in, so I am removing my current engine. I have a 96 Bronco that came equipped with ABS and it is currently fully functional.
I know the current gasser front body wiring harness has the plugs for the ABS unit, and the 95 powerstroke front body wiring does not have any accommodations for ABS (I don't know if any did.) Because I already have everything I need for ABS, is it possible to wire it up to the 95 harness and get it functioning properly?
I am keeping the current Bronco axles until I can save up for a SAS, a good rear axle, 8 lug wheels, and tires, so they will be on for quite some time (unless they break first.) I don't know how ABS works, so I don't know if it's controlled by the computer or if it's a separate unit altogether, but if my current axles are set up for them I figure why not use it?
Another side question is did OBS powerstrokes come with airbags? The wiring harness for the 95 doesn't have the collision sensors plugs like my Bronco has. If it's not too big of a deal, I was thinking of trying to take the wiring for the airbags out of my old harness and build it into my new one.
