Never looked at the PS pump while running so can't say if it was leaking at this pressure fitting. What do you think? Should I just give it a try and see what happens? Think I could find a replacement part?

While on the outside it looks like "just" a fitting it's actually an integral part of the internal pump housing.
It may or may not have been leaking. That gash is right on the beveled part of the fitting that does the actual sealing but it doesn't look like it crosses the bevel completely, so you may luck out and it won't leak. If it does, don't bother trying teflon tape, it won't work.
