Wiring help

Having some issues identifying a wire. It is red with yellow dots. Previous owner cut it. It is on the engine side of the engine harness.

First, you need to help us help you. What year truck? That's important because in 1981 they were using dots and dashes/hashes, but by 1986 the EVTM says that had been discontinued. And, to really help we need to know a lot more about where the wire is. So, a picture would help.

Also, I found a red/yellow wire on Page 15 going to the headlamps. But that doesn't fit with your description of where the wire is, so tell us more, please.

I guess it would be more of a hash.

That being the case use the 1981 EVTM and check out all of the wiring in that area. You are looking for something that says "R/Y D" for red with yellow dots. Or "R/Y H" for red with yellow hash marks if it might be that instead of dots.
