1962? dump truck

Don't know the exact year, that's beside the point. Going to be doing some work on this for my neighbor. Recently was in a flood. I know it has the 370 v8. The door plate gives me model: n702, trans: 2, axle: e2. Has the split transmission. Pretty much as of right now just need to know engine transmission and axle fluid weight and quantity.

370 was introduced in 1979.

N702 is an LN700 (gas) w/a GVWR of 23,000 lbs.

Post the VIN .. as once decoded, the year will be known. Need it to give you the correct TRANS & AXLE types.

You'd be better off asking these questions in the LARGE TRUCK forum. This forum is for 1961/66.

Vin is N70EUP51183. Had to go verify because all the decoder sites say it should be a number followed by an f.

It's not a 370!

N70 = LN700 (gas).

E = 361 2V FT Engine (FT has 5 valve cover bolts per side, 370 has 7).

U = Louisville KY Assembly Plant.

P51183 = 1972.

TRANS: 2 = Clark model 282V 5 Speed Direct.

AXLE: E2 = Eaton model 16244 Two Speed Rear Axle / 6.17/8.58 / 17,500 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.

Thank you guys. This is really the most reliable site I have found for anything in this area. There has been only one thing ever UN resolved and I believe it's because it was a car. Other than that, yes.
