1970 c600 coe

Ok, so I bought this c600 for a thousand runs great needs cosmetic resto and new contacts in the two speed. My first over a ton truck and I need info.
vin# C61DVH51035 axel f24 trans A dso 22

previous owner says its a 331 engine, where do I look for clarification on the engine and rear axle size?

Welcome to FTE

C61 = C600 Series Tilt Cab (gas).

D = 330 2V Heavy Duty FT engine.

V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.

H51035 = 1970.

F24: F2 = Eaton model 15201 2 Speed Rear Axle / 5.83/8.12-1 / 15,000 lb. Rear Axle Capacity // 4 = Ford Front Axle w/o P/S / 7,000 lb. Front Axle Capacity.

A = New Process 435 4 Speed Manual Transmission.

22 = Charlotte NC Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

thank you very much. I am well pleased with its performance but I need to get contacts for the rear axle, any suggestions besides my local napa?

If NAPA can get them, that's your best bet.

Any parts store that sells heavy truck parts should have the contacts.They use to be inexpensive at the dealer
put some light grease or oil on the screw and bottom bearing while your in there.Sometimes they get a little rusty

Thank funny I just did that last week from Napa. Echlin no. cheap
contact also they had the 12V motor to.
