Can anyone help me track down the options on my 1957 F600? Here's a picture of the truck's nameplate. I'm especially interested in details relating to the transmission and rear axle.
That's a strange plate. First off, it's fastened with screws. As OEM, they were riveted in so as to be tamper "resistant". As to the VIN decode, I don't have the decoder ring, but the trans and axle seem to be obvious. Usually there are trans and axle codes. Instead you show 5MDD which I am going to say means 5 speed Manual Direct Drive. 5th is 1:1. Your rear axle would be a two speed with the ratios shown. (6.33/8.81)
We have a large truck forum where we might get a faster result, but let's see what turns up in the next day or two. (or three...)

Thanks, any ideas on who made the rear axle or trans? I'd like to know in case I need to track down parts.
