3 weeks been dead. Most of the time waiting on parts.
Scangage readings during crank: Temps in the 70s.
IPR 84.7%
ICP 250
SYC 1
FICM 47.5-48
Dash gauge oil pressure mid-range.
Leak checked numerous times with 100psi shop air thru ICP boss.
Replaced stand pipes and dummy plugs in Feb.
ran fine for 4 weeks.
Since it's died this time, replaced the following:
IPR new
ICP new
New injector top and bottom o-rings
Polished oil rail nipple cups and new o-rings.
New STC fitting
What I have found:
drivers side dummy plug(new) bottom o-ring split
when I pulled oil rail pass side found shredded parts of o-ring gathered around bottom of stand pipe o-ring.
Suspecting HPOP may have failed.
Need some suggestions but leaning very hard that way.
Thanks in advance.
Miss my truck. Looks sad sitting there.
I'ts hard to think the HPOP checked out being you have a late build, but it's not out of the question. You've covered pretty much all the bases with work done so far.
What makes one suspect it more is the fact your posts from the past have stated eratic start and no start scenarios.
Only reaching 250 ICP is a good leak for sure, so HPOP certainly looks like the culprit. It would not be the first thread for late build HPOP R and R, that much I do know.
Your shop air can't pressurize the system high enough to find the leak. IF all that was done,,,, dummy plugs, STC and standpipes with o-ring replaced on injectors AND you verified no leak to any of those items... then I'd say the same as Mike. You could remove the HPOP cover and apply air. If it oozes oil without spinning the pump, then it's toast. You could also check the seal to see if its oozing or has shaft play in any direction. I'd also try spinning the pump by hand, if it feels sticky, or hangs a bit at a certain spot.... time for a new one.
2006 F350
Had the HPOP out twice already. Did notice a hang up spot but thought it was just oil being pressured inside. Seemed to be in the same spot each turn.
Does anyone make a HPOP rebuild kit.
Thanx

Not a kit that I have ever seen mentioned here or anywhere else. I think Ford considers it a non serviceable part, and who would want a tech spending hours rebuilding and testing a pump that rarely goes bad, not to mention the barrier to entry as far as test equipment is concerned for a dealer.
They would rather leave that up to the rebuilders.
Still no joy. ICP 250 ish. Took out test fittings on both oil rails while cranking. minimal oil out of pass rail port. Zero oil out of drivers side port while cranking.
HPOP next.
Confirmation the pump is shot, should have made a huge mess while cranking it over with those plugs out. Unless you are not getting LPO, your HPOP is toast and your dash gauge midway would seem to confirm that is not a problem.
You won't recognize it back once repaired with all the work done already.
HPOP on order.
Just a heads up , a buddy of mine with a 2007 6.0 HPOP failure.
Ford stealership charging $3K , to replace. F550
These pumps are not bulletproof.
Pulling cab to do it. I can get one out and back in under 3hrs. Cab on.
Sounds like stealing to me.
It stands to reason the V4 style pump, as these later builds get more miles on them are going to have more failures. No they are no bullet proof but beat the heck out of the swash style early build.
I would like to know however how that dealer charges 3 large for that job. I would line up those jobs all day long and make a good living at it doing nothing but late HPOP R and R's if I could ask those exorbitant rates.
