Rear axle swap in Excursion, different lengths?
Hello everyone,
I have a question on a rear axle swap for my 2004 Ford Excursion Diesel, what is the difference in rear axles? Obviously there's a difference between limited slip and not, but what are the differences in the other codes?
I have axle code:
C1 — 3.73 limited slip, F-250/Excursion
This car is for resale, so I do not care if it is limited slip or not. Are any of the following direct swaps with different ring sizes? As long as I can direct bolt on I just want the most economical option.
Here are my options:
31 — 3.73 non-limited slip, F-250/Excursion
41 — 3.73 non-limited slip, F-350
81 — 3.73 non-limited slip, F-350
D1 — 3.73 limited slip, F-350
I believe these are dually only, correct me if I am wrong:
61 — 3.73 non-limited slip, F-350
F1 — 3.73 limited slip, F-350
