Hello all...hoping someone can help me verify the axle code as it is displayed on the door sticker of my 2005 F350. The code reads: 3L. Does this mean 3.73 limited slip?

I have a 2003 F250 with LS 3:73's and the code is C1...

 

Is yours an '05?

3L isn't on the list I have from a specs doc from Ford. Here is all the axle codes I found for '05.

I just checked the door sticker one more time and it says 3L. Seems odd.

 

By the way...it is definitely an 05.

 

All the codes listed above are for 1999-2004 F-SD's. The newer 2005-2006 use these codes:

37- 3.73
3L- 3.73 LS
41- 4.10
4N- 4.10 LS
43- 4.30
4L- 4.30 LS
48- 4.88
8L- 4.88 LS
53- 5.38
5L- 5.38 LS

LS = Limited Slip, others are open-diff.
