Tailgate Questions

Just replaced my recently stolen tailgate. Does anyone have the dimensions for the King Ranch emblem location for a 2015? TIA

Also, has anyone figured out a way to tie the tailgate into the alarm system (similar to the way the hood is? I'm guessing that you could possibly tap into the wiring under the hood and add a switch/contact at the tailgate...Also how would this interfere with engine immobilizer, etc?

Sorry to hear somebody took you tailgate. Can't you simply lock the gate with the key? (2015+ and 2017+ 150 / Super Duty trucks have a power tailgate lock)

As for the alarm, there is very little clearance for a contact switch install, and then how would you run the wiring inside the double-walled bed?

I have my '03 tailgate alarmed with a magnet sensor. Just put the wiring through to the taillight and then run up. Full aftermarket alarm though, not tied into a factory one.

Switch the hardware around on the box will keep it from coming off also this is where using red loctite comes in handy especially if you don't plan on taking it off.

Get the tailgate locking device that clamps around the release pivot. It makes it a PITA to remove the tailgate. Thieves will move on if it takes any work other than simply undoing the cables and lowering the gate.Form what understand they are quite secure. I haven't installed one yet as I've yet to purchase a lift gate. I keep the current gate locked. McGard, Master makes them.

A hose clamp works too.
