Help 2 issues

I have a 2001 f350 7.3 diesel and want some info... I am switching out the air intake and thinking about the Banks package..what are you guys running and how does it compare? Also, I am dealing with an issue of a dual generator upper and lower fault codes.. I only have a single generator system and it is running strong as far as I can see.. When I start it shows 12.9 and then raises to 14 when running.. Stays there the entire run...any suggestions?

The voltage looks right, remember the glow plugs stay cycling for over two minutes. As for the intake depends what you want, you can go with the 6637 mod, an AIS from Ford, or an S&B ais. If you like loud 6637, if quiete any of the other two will serv you well.

Stock sticks and turbo, even if tuned - Ford AIS is the quietest with I would say the best filtration. Amping it up a bit? S&B is the quietest bigger breather, but I now get half the filter life I did with my AIS (20k miles AIS, 10K miles S&B dry filter). Banks? How much is the filter kit (initial cost) and the element (maintenance cost)?

Ok but is the ford ais any better then the stock intake? Initial cost is more but if I go to the reuse able filter it is cost effective. Never thought about S&B but reading about it.. Truck is not an everyday driver but toOk I have a 2001 f350 7.3 diesel, I am looking at switching out the air intake and want some suggestions on what you guys are running and what issues if any? Also, I have an issue with the code for a dual upper and lower generator fault.. I checked and only have one generator not a dual system.. Any suggestions.. The alternator is running strong at 14.1.. But I have noticed when I start it up it is down to 12..s and goes to Lowes all the time. The guy before me took the IAT sensor off and monkey rigged the intake system. I had other issues that were more critical but now I am on to this. Thanks for the gudeance.. Anyone have other AIS?

Like Tugly said the AIS is quiet & big improvement over the stock filter box that warps & leaks dirt to the turbo/engine over time, also that nice filter element is so easy to replace.

Generally speaking Banks stuff is very good design and quality, but you will pay handsomely for it. Most here opt for more cost effective solutions. I have the AIS and love it, quiet and basically the best filtration available. For bigger than stock injectors you'll need a 6637 or S&B.

Voltage readings are fine so I'd ignore a code for the absent second alternator. Maybe the PCM is used, from a dual alt truck, so it's looking for something that isn't there. Post up the PCM code if you want to check it. Click this LINK for info on how to get the PCM code.

That is what I was thinking awwber.. So I was ignoring it but wanted to see if anyone had the issue. I have looked at both the Donaldson ais and banks.. Banks is cleaner and I can find both for around the same price..what I just found is that the IAT sensor is missing ..like not there at all. So I need to get one or the other asap. Leaning towards the ais...will let you guys know when I get it and how it performs.. Thanks again for your opinion
