about 1.5 yrs ago I was coming home from a short trip to town....I noticed a definite noisier engine, and my friend called me to say "your truck sounds louder"...sounded like a valve wanted to get out and walk...I parked it....now its time to figure this out...any help advice is appreciated....

Depending on what is it your hearing thats louder,
1. knocking noise? (Typical clack, clack, clack more than normal)
2. Hissing noise? (Ssssssss, sssssssss eveytime you get on it)
3. Exhaust leak noise? (Tstststststststststststs mostly noticible on any givin rpm)
