I've finally gotten motivated to cut the rot out of my 66 F250s doors and replace all of the felt, window tracks, rubber, and vent window parts. The door is just a shell and all of the body work is done, now just to put it all together. Can anybody give me some direction as to the order at which each component goes back in. This is in regards to door latch, window tracks, regulator, etc. Thanks in advance.
This is a subject that has been posted before so scroll down a bit. Its a work of futile frustration if it is done in the wrong order. I know the door latch goes in first as it is behind the door felt. I also set the glass inside the door before putting other things in as it barely fits. Eventually I have to do mine on my '66 F250 but there's a '69 that is ahead of it.
Thank you Inline66 for the link. I printed it out and used it to assist me. Everything is back together again but after having virtually no door seals to having these big new seals I can't get the door adjusted nor closing correctly. The vent window is another problem, same thing, with the abundance of fresh new rubber there it makes it very hard to get the window to close without a two handed effort. The door is proud of the jamb by 1/2" or more when it's closed as well.
Yeah, I still have the same problem with my doors. I did the door seals last fall and they're finally getting easier to close, but don't sit flush. I used the Dennis Carpenter parts for everything, and my vent windows work well. Yours may need a little silicone spray to help out at first.

As always I,m a day late and a dollar short on posting, but glad to see the window tech article is still being a access to other builds. I refer to it for most of my builds to include the 70's model truck I done.
