So ive had this truck for a few days now(95 f250) and every so often the truck seems to have high idle. But its strange because its only when warm and not all the time.
Im thinking its the iac but i dont wanna buy the part if its not the problem. And the scanner I have wont work on this truck because its too old so I cant pull the codes. I guess Ill have to take it to someone. Could it be that the throttle body is dirty?
Ahh... but you can grasshopper, and all you need is a paperclip. The procedure is find the EEC TEST connector near the drivers side hood hinge and insert the jumper(paperclip) between the Self_Test_In and Sig_RTN pins, then turn the key to run and count the flashes on the check engine light.
You can cycle the key and count those flashes as many times as you need to get it correct, but you can also buy a simple and inexpensive code reader and take all the guess work out if it.
