exhaust question

I have a F-150 w/4.2. My drivers side downpipe has the converter as 1 piece. No problem there. My question is since I have to replace this pipe does it matter if the O2 sensor is in the converter or after the converter? OEM has it in the converter and I can get after market that has it after the converter by the bend

That sensor is a cat monitor.
It likely is ok in that new position or it would not be made that way if a reputable company is marketing it.
It monitors the health of the cat in cleaning the exhaust back to more Oxygen content.
Good luck.
