Hello , so I have an issue with a truck I recently purchased. I have a vibration that starts around 50, feels like a wobbling vibration. Than once I hit 75 it feels like the truck is going to fall apart. Heavy rumbling.
It's a Ford F-350 dually extended cab
With 115,000 miles on it.
I took it to the shop to balance out the wheels and all the wheels needed atleast 2 oz of weighes on each side. Some have as much as 4.75 oz on one side. Is it possible that I need 6 brand new rims?
I had all six balanced twice and they informed me that the rims were bent but still useable.
I'm now replacing rear rotors and front bearings.
And will know if this changes anything.
Thank you
Welcome to FTE! What I have done to narrow vibrations down, and this isn't the safest thing to do BTW, is put the rear end on jack stands, start the truck, and run the wheels up to speed. Driveshaft my have issues, u-joint, carrier bearing, binding slip yolk. Years ago my 02 had a vibration and couldn't figure it out. I knew it was the rear end or driveshaft. Went to drop the driveshaft, and the non-greasable u-joints were froze up.

There is something majorly wrong here. What brand of tire is on your truck? How old?
That's an oscillating vibration. Check the front end with a fine tooth comb. Ball joints, tie rod ends, pitman arm, loose steering box, etc. Anything and everything that moves, and perhaps some things that aren't suppose to move. Bushings, etc. Shocks and steering stabilizer shock should be checked too.
I'll give you a tip that I learned from the veteran mechanics. If you feel it in the steering wheel and the front floor board then chances are it is in the front end. If you feel it in the bottom and back of the seat then it's in the back end of the truck.
thanks for the tips , I took of my rear wheels today and noticed that the rear rotors are warped. You can clearly see the wobble in it as it turns. Could this be the cause or part of it? I'm going to replace them anyway.
My theory was that since the rotors connect to the hub with 8 bolts and the hub connects to the wheels then this may be it. I'll do a video before I take them off.
Also the front driver side bearing is a little loose. So I will go ahead and tighten that up as well and check for anything else that's loose. Thanks for the help everyone
Any other suggestions please let me know
