They aren't known to be fast trucks but bigger tires could make a difference,There's a few different ratios it could have...3.55 4.10..etc
4.10's and 35s shouldn't be too bad but 3.55's would be a dog...probably shift to low and have to downshift anytime you want to speed up
The 5.8 is not very fast in these trucks. We have a 93 dually with 3.55 gearing and it can't get out of it's own way.
It will pull anything we throw at it, but it won't do it fast.
there are other factors ... my truck is a 5.8/c6/4:10 with reg. cab. long box 2wd ...
after test-driving a 5.8/c6/unknown rear end in an ext. cab long box 4wd, my old work truck felt like a racehorse.
stock tires on both, by the way.
like this truck is really slow I was stepping on it and it wasn't moving. there's a crack in the exhaust manifold but I doubt it was that much of a performance difference. it has a stock rear, so probably a 3.55. and yea it is a 5.8, I saw it and drove it. it's an auto tranny
They're pretty damn slow...so slow I've thought I was breaking down if I hit long grades that feel like flat ground. With some work, and not really that much money, they run strong but stock; turds.
