The truck has been marking its territory pretty bad lately so I am finally diggin into it. I have oil clear up under the hpop, up the side on the driver side head towards the rear (this area seems the wettest) and the driver side of the valley is worse than the passenger side. The ? Is could the turbo pedestal o'rings leaking have enough pressure to spray up towards the front of the valley? Got the turbo off and noticed the bottom side on the pedestal is wet
I would go ahead and put new pedestal o-rings in. Clean it all up real good before you put the turbo back on, then run it and maybe you'll be able to see exactly where it's coming from.
I did the ccv mod and don't see any oil around the doghouse where it bolts to the VC. I'm doin glowplugs and figured I better investigate. Got the ped o'rings and goin to do some cleaning.
I noticed something odd when I was changing Gp's. The passenger front was dry when I pulled it out. The rest were covered in oil. I soaked up all the oil around them before I pulled them. It seemed to be dry and kinda white on the end?
IDK WTH any of this stuff is? I see mod. what is a CCV mod?? like I need more things to do....
The crank case vents into the intake and an oily mist sprays into the turbo and if u have an intercooler it coats that up too. There is a rectangle box on top or the drivers side valve cover. Flip it 180* and plug the hole in the intake. I took a piece of tube and looped it over the brake booster, so it will drain the oily residue back to the head. The tube runs all the way down to the frame rail. Some hook it into their exhaust and some in a catch can, in a closed loop. Some delete it all together.
