Brake line flaring tool

Has anyone here used the Eastwood lever type flaring tool on their brake lines? Summit, Speedway and K-Line all sell what looks like the same tool. The tools look like they work well in the videos. I was wondering if anyone here had any real experience with one. I have a bar type double flaring tool that I have had for years. It seems like I have to make several attempts to get a good flare. The FedHill flaring tool and the Hydraulic tools are out of my price range and the Eastwood tool is on sale now.
Thanks, Mark

I have the Eastwood tool. It is excellent. Real easy to use. Every flare is identical and perfect. Definitely no regrets with that tool. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.

I have a Snap-On bar type flaring tool. I have had it for 30yrs, and made quite a few flare's with it. I take my time, and it seems to work just fine. On the final flare, I don't tighten it down as much as the 1st flare, and find it works great. good luck.

Nick, thanks for the reply. Did you use it on steel line or the nickel-copper?

Grant, thanks for the reply. The bar tool that I have is an Imperial-Eastman that I bought about 40 years ago. It wasn't a cheap tool when I bought it. I have made a few lines with it over the years, but I have trouble with the flares as they are not always centered on the tube. I really don't like how the teeth in the bar chews up the tubing also. I need to make a full set of lines for my truck and eventually my son's '69 Bronco and T-bucket. I seem to waste a lot of tube with my flaring tool.

I've used it on both. It works perfect for either. It works with stainless too. It really takes any guess work out and makes it a simple fool proof procedure. I'm sure you saw the video on the Eastwood site? It really is that simple. I'm not generally a Eastwood fan boy. But this tool is good.

You really do get a perfect flare every time. I have the AN fitting die set too.

I just watched a video for the Eastwood tool; I'm sold on it. Our ph # at work is one number off Eastwood's, so Maybe they'll give me a break on the price, LOL. I get about 5 calls a day for Eastwood. I wonder how many calls they get for me?

I just watched that video. How much easier could it get? Sure beats struggling with the bar type ones. Certainly a worthy investment.

I have the Eastwood tool also. It does work just like the video. Makes a perfect double flare every time (just don't forget to put the nut on first). I also have an Imperial Eastman which makes fine double flares in copper but not with steel. I also have the high end Ridgid one piece tool that is only good for single flares. I recommend you get it while it's on sale. The only small drawback is that it must be used in a vice, or bolted down, so it's not that portable. Not really a problem for me though.

I also have the Eastwood tool. Worth the $ the first time you need it. Easy to make perfect flares in copper, nickel and stainless.
