My '89 F350 was converted from automatic trans to ZF5 and there is a TPS on the side of the injector pump. Can I remove it or does it serve some other functions besides the A/T?
Remove it, keep it, and wait for someone here to need one. You might just be able to sell it and get a few $ out of it, and help some poor sucker with an E-4-uhoh-D out of a jam.

I guess one of the PO's of this truck had all of the E-4-uhoh-D he could stand (or afford) and converted to ZF-5.
or he was young and felt rowing the gears was cool.
properly set up and maintained, the E4OD is a very good trans.
the problem is most people feel an auto trans is good for the life of the vehicle and never do a filter and fluid service on it....... then get all upset when it fails at 120k miles.
