Alright Mark--I have to agree with Kevin, having lived in the Apple Capitol of the World all my life (aka Wenatchee WA.) due to shipping and storage some of the apples shipped to NY can experience an aged taste depending on how long since harvest, and possibly water core and not as crisp etc. But all that is Because of storage time. My Father in law lives in Alexandria Bay, NY and always pays the extra bucks to have them shipped faster and thus fresher as I can can walk into the orchard and pick them for him and ship through the week days ensuring they won't hold over a weekend and freeze somewhere along the line. Just a note from a farmer
Matt-- Aren't apples great? Our Gold's Gym here has a contest each year where to participate you have to attempt to get on a schedule to eat 5 apples each day and work out there also. The most improved wins some pretty big prizes. Haven't heard any awful side effects aside from those above, and I question the one about apples eating tooth enamel---much worse things we drink that eat teeth more than apples would.

After 2 decades of eating processed garbage food, I've found that packing my face full of apples is way more fun than triscuits/crackers/chips.
I'm a pretty big guy, but I can't eat all that much at one time, so I end up being hungry all the time. Instead of idly snacking on some junk food, I've been chowing down on apples.
Is there anything bad about eating too many apples? Or is there no such thing?

I used to eat them a lot too, until 5 years ago. I grabbed one off the kitchen counter, not knowing my wife had laid them there to be washed, but hadnt washed them yet. Three hours later I had unstoppable diaherra and was bloated to the max. Four days in the hospital and tons of tests came up with no confimed diagnosis of the cause. I still say it was the unwashed apple, tho I'll never know. To this day, I wont touch an unpeeled apple,
I don't like apples. They taste good, but I can't stand eating them, and if I do, they have to be sliced. They also give me indigestion...
But I am allergic to most fruits, so that just goes with the territory.
Anybody ever tried a Palisade Peach? The best peaches are grown in Western Colorado, in the Grand Valley near Grand Junction and Palisade. This year they are particularly delicious. I brought a flat back from Junction last weekend, and I've eaten 3 a day since then.
MMMMMMMMMMM!

I'm planting apples and pears this year there are a several varieties of the two that do well in Arizona, if you plant the wrong type here in the valley they won't bear fruit, one reason is some apple trees actually have to experience a true freeze or sustained near freezing temperature the other is because it gets too hot before some germinate and they won't germinate at the temps we get here, of course the bitter crab apple will grow here. I prefer pears but the deer love apples we also have oranges and pecans.
