Broken Linkage?

Broken Linkage?
I have a 352 with a automatic transmission (maybe a c6...idk) on a 57 and shifting was getting rough when trying to get in gear. Pulled it in garage to take a look at it and could not put it in park.(No gears, just a lose column shifter) Killed it in drive put blocks on the tires and assumed it was in the column but after further investigation I found a broken "arm" hanging from the shifting rod. The question is was this something just fabbed or something standard. Here is a picture of what I have. I need to post a picture of the transmission because I am not sure how it would of broke and wonder if I am missing something. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

1965/67 F100/350's with 352's came with the MX Cruise-O-Matic which has a separate converter housing. C6 installed in 1968/76 F100/350.
The C6 converter housing is made as part of the transmission case.
Pictured above appears to be a manual control selector lever.

Thank you, honestly I'm not sure what I'm dealing with and probably over my head. Looking through this forum I am amazed with your knowledge but more importantly admire you sharing it. Here is a picture of the transmission, I really only got it running after sitting eight years and know by the looks of it I have some leaks to address. Any ideas on how to get it back together at least?
