Does anyone know if the t-45 in the new mustang can stand to the torque of the big block??? I know the tko can, but i found a t45 for cheap...just looking to upgrade to a 5 speed...
1. Is the T45 offered in the GT. Mach 1 or the Cobra? If so, that would indicate some ability to handle HP, not necessarilly the torque of a hoped up FE. Obviously, the 2003 Cobra is in the range of power as a hopped up FE (probably slightly less on the torque, but I would think close enough)
2. The big kicker, does somebody make a bell-housing adapter for that tranny to mate to an FE? Mu guess is , no!
t-45 has the bellhouse built into the case, so it won't work regardless of an adapter or not. the t-5 and t-56 should fit directly to the old 4 speed bellhousings. the tko and t3550 trannies also fit the older bellhousings. the tko 2 is the only one that can hold up to 400 lbs of torque, but i am guessing with even small amounts of tuning on the big blocks you can surpass the limit.
