[QUOTE=boggerted;16127103]Id pull pan and make sure the filter didnt fall down. If the pump is not picking up fluid while running it will most likely show overfull on stick which you said was the case. If the filter was not swapped out to the revised design with the deeper pickup and filter can fall out of the pump and no fluid=no go[/QUOTE
I wish that was the case but I did replace the filter and gasket and fluid

Sounds like you eliminated every possible outside cause. I'm not a trany expert but these have had their share of problems. Looks like its has to come out. Rebuilts are best but very expensive. What I have done is buy a used gasser e40d there are many, diesels are hard to find. I have an e40d rebuild video and book I got on ebay. Take them apart carefully and put the pieces in order ,(you should eventually find the failure) and carefully put the gasser guts in the diesel housing. You need to reuses the diesel torque converter. Other than the converter the parts are interchangeable, there have been updates and modifications but bottom line just for a daily driver this will work. Mite not be the best route for pulling or severe duty

He said it was blowing fluid out of the cooler line. So I know the filter is in place and is the correct one. This is just a waste of time and effort. It won't help at all.

Yes, it could be. Or a broken weld on a sun gear, or a few other things, too.

Then the transfer case isn't the problem. This transmission is done. Stick a fork in it.

You need to take it all the way down. I've seen sun gear welds break from the shell they are attached to. You need to look close to see this. If you only checked the front planetary you need to remove the rest and check that, too.

When it didn't move did you try the 1 and 2 position? If it moved there the problem is a failed (or installed backwards) overdrive one way clutch.
