The heater when turned all the way up, is warm at best. The dial feels spongy when it gets to the full heat setting, turning all the way left it hits a hard stop, but turning it to full right, it feels springy.
Probably the blend door take the inspection cover off the heater core stick your hand in there might be a broken piece blocking it just went through that with mine and the blend door was broken had to replace the whole assembly that was fun
Lol did mine before winter if it is your blend door broken it's a heck of a job whole dash has to come out I couldn't find just a blend door had to get the whole assembly online
What's the water temp gauge on your dash say? Could be a stuck thermostat (like it was on mine). That would be the best, because the Tstat and gasket are like $10 and maybe 30-60 minutes labor (all said and done).
Didn't see what year your truck was but on my 93 there is a cable adjuster behind the glove box. On mine you squeeze or pry the thing that holds the cable in place and that will allow the cable to go one way or the other. I have a picture of it somewhere but your truck might be different. That spongy feeling is how mine was and the **** would stop about 3/4 the way to hot
