Checking fuel pressure is always a good thing IMO. I would definitely consider installing a Fuel Pressure Gauge as well, don't use it often but when you need it for troubleshooting it sure is worth the cost in my book. Plus they really come in handy during the winter to keep an eye on things when it comes to gelling.
should see 57 or so PSI on a stock setup. You can hook up a $20 mechanical gauge to one of the fuel bowl ports mentioned above. The passenger side reads post filter and the drivers side reads pre filter IIRC.
