I would really like to see an aftermarket floor mounted stick type shifter that would allow me to use the manual mode of the automatic transmission in my 2012 f250 more like an actual manual transmission. I think it would be more fun and the up/down buttons it has now are kind of awkward.
If I start off in M-3, and I take my foot off the brake, It will idle roll just fine.
Speaking of Manual mode...I think I can only use it up to 3rd. It flashes the 3 when I try to shift higher than that. I know I saw a thread somewhere that explained why, but I can't remember. I think I even tried getting the rpm a little higher in 3rd but it still wouldn't let me go to 4th.

That's weird. I can shift all the way through 6th in manual. I've been running the 5star daily/tow tune but I'm taking the truck in for some work so I put it back to stock. I thought since the stock shift points suck I'd just drive in manual until I load the tune back. If I had a stick like a manual transmission I'd probably always drive in manual mode.
I'll have to try it again, maybe in 3rd I just wasn't moving fast enough for it to let me shift it to 4th.
the truck manual recommends M shift into 4th at 40mph... that would normally be 6th gear for me..lol. I guess I just have to get those rpm up a little higher when I'm in 3rd, and maybe it will let me go to 4th.
