ZF5 reverse light issues

ZF5 reverse light issues
My trucks reverse lights are not working. I can remove the reverse light switch and press the switch and the lights work. Can someone tell me how the mechanism works in the Trans to close the circuit for the lights so I might be able to fix them.

Just for S&G, try a new switch; they're cheap enough at RockAuto. I had the same thing happen with a T19 (same switch, IIRC). Old switch would do the same thing; it would close when I pressed it, but not when installed. New switch worked fine. Idunno, maybe they wear to the point that the mechanism inside the tranny that pushes the pluger doesn't push it far enough.
