So I have a question I have a 87 f250 sclb with a 460 and a t18 4x4. I am looking to swap my drive train i really wanted to diesel swap it. But the lack of motors around me cause prices to be high. So i found a 3v v10 swap with everything for a swap but it has a 2wd trans and i need to know what transmissions are compatable with this motor everything is low miles and very clean it came out of a wrecked rv. The only thing not included for the 1500 is a drive shaft really. I was also wondering if a manual trans was an option being my truck is already one. Not that i am stuck on keeping it that way just want to know what im in for i guess. Any help? Thanks in advance
Manual is an option for the V10. They came with the same 5 and 6 speeds as the 5.4 gas. Bell housing pattern on the diesel is different, so you want one from another V10 or a 5.4
Well since nobody else replied. 99 to 02's I think came with ZF5's, 03 and up came with ZF6's. If you're using the 3v obviously stick with the ZF6. Rock solid rig right there.
Alright ill look for transmission codesin the zf6 world. I appreciate it i know im not in the swap forum's but i figured since it was a v10 the super duty guy's would know.
