What device could I install on my diesel and gas vehicles where I can keep it idling, but if someone jumps into steal it, and presses the brake pedal, the engine shuts down. I can't for the life me think of what they are called, but I remember seeing them in the past.
Didn't know they made such a thing you could buy off the shelf. You could easily make one with a relay and a arm/disarm switch mounted somewhere. You would have to pick the correct wire to shut the engine off, which would vary depending on the vehicle.
An aftermarket remote start system would give you this functionality. Although, some of them will shut the engine down after a certain time period (15-30 minutes?) to prevent excessive idling.
