Brake question
The breaks react as early as they shall. But when I've got the initial brake force I can push the pedal about 2/3 towards the floor before anything more happens. Then it is possible to lock the front-weels. The van doesn't pull to either side.
If I then release the pedal it is slow on its return.
If I then brakes again the pedal is harder, and even slower on its return. And so on ...
After about five tries the brake warning comes up and tells me that I'm missing vacuum.
Any suggestions?

Second, check to make sure there is no binding in the brake pedal.
Then, with transmission in NEUTRAL, stop the engine and put on the parking brake. Push the brake pedal several times to clear any vacuum in the system. While pressing the brake pedal, start the engine. If the booster is operating properly, the brake pedal will move downward under constant foot pressure. If no motion is felt, the power brake booster system is not functioning. It could be a leaky diaphragm or check valve.
Good luck.
I have plenty of brake fluid, and no difference in the reading the last weeks.
I'm not quite shure what you meen with "binding" in the break pedal. The feeling when I press it is something like :"soft-soft-hard-hard-hard-very hard-stop", quite what I'm used to from other cars. It stops 1/3 from the floor, and the real breaking action starts 2/3 from the floor.
The vacuum stays in the brake booster atleast 24 hours. When I pump the pedal with the engine off, the booster effect is gone after three pumps. The pedal is then gone hard - as normal.
When I start the engine with pressure on the pedal, it sinks down - as expected.
The braking gives sort of a strange feeling. It feels like all the brake force comes at 2/3 from the floor, but when I push harder, I don't get more brake force until 1/3 from the floor.
Thanks for kind help!
