Yes, the pedestal has to be attached to the turbo for installation. don't forget new o-rings.

Once the turbo - pedestal if off check the collector to up pipes as the donuts will probably loose seal. You can put new donuts in or bite the bullet and get some bellowed up pipes and be done with it. Wish I had done that when my turbo was off.
Took me 1.5 days to get the turbo out but with ebpv pedestal delete only took me about 1 hour to reinstall.

You will find the passenger side bolt difficult to get a socket on because you hit the flange on the turbo. It won't help you with the first removal but grind a bevel in the flange on the turbo before you reinstall it. Makes getting the bolt back in much easier and the next removal easier too.
