Engine Running DTC 167 indicates the TP sensor did not exceed 25 percent of its rotation during the Dynamic Response Test. A complete wide open throttle must be performed during the Dynamic Response portion of the test.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!! I picked up the truck yesterday after the neutral safetyswitch was replaced. I drove it for an hour, about 45 miles in town and on the road. Not a single hiccup. This truck works right for the first time in almost ten years.
My mother in law's last husband took the truck to at least five dealerships while he had it (he's passed away now) and could not get any help. The guy that owns the shop I took it to thought that [switch] was a likely culprit when I took it in and described the issue, but could not get the truck to demonstrate the issue on the short drives he made. I told him just go ahead and replace the part, since I was already in for the diagnostic fee.
Just about anybody who can pull a wrench can make this repair in about 20-30 minutes and the part is only about $50-$60 if you shop around.
