I have a bell from an external hydraulic clutch 88 F150. I am trying to find the rubber boot that goes around the shift fork. Ford says it is discontinued. I cannot find a source ANYWHERE. Does anyone here have a source for one? Or does anyone have a way f getting the measurements needed to try adapting another application boot to it? I swapped this into my CJ5, and I don't want to do any trails with it until I plug that hole up somehow. I'm willing to even go with a used part if it is in good condition.
Have you looked at the '80 and up boot for a CJ? As you may already know the is when they went to a hydraulic clutch. The boot is a square instead of the previous rectangle used on the mechanical clutch.

Yeah, but they fit the mid-late 70's Ford bellhousing. You did make me think of measuring the original AMC bellhousing, maybe they'd be close to a match...
Yeah, I go by Cutlass327 there. Took me forever to remember this login here because I haven't used this handle for at least 15 years...
The CJ boots I have are too short (top-bottom) by almost an inch. A user on JF had mentioned a couple p/n for ones he had luck with, so I ordered on of each (~$15 total somewhere), and no luck. I'm contemplating fitting the closest one and using silicone to fill in the gaps. Or even getting a piece of tire innertube material and screwing it over the installed piece and making a cover. If I could find something larger, I'd even cut the hole in the bell bigger to fit! I am itching so bad to hit some trails, but I don't feel like filling the clutch with mud/water/slop with the open hole....
It would help if we knew what transmission it was. It should be a T-18, but with Ford you never quite know for sure. If it is a T-18, it will have a diamond BW logo cast into the driver's side.
I made this to bolt over the hole, the boot is a CJ application. I just have to remove the slave cyl, fit it in place, carefully drill/tap the holes, and use some stainless bolts to secure it. I'll put some sealer between them, too.
